Let me recognize my problems have been solved

Recently been using an HP Pavilion dv2000 and generally always have a tendency to try to get rid of Windows as soon as possible. For an year or so i managed to get a dual boot win/freebsd on the hd, dont remember how i did it. Some months ago OpenSolaris started to seem very atractive because i mistakenly thought freebsd doesnt support the wifi adapter. Anyway i liked it :) So i did install OpenSolaris and it suits me just fine except for the lack of usb support in virtualbox. Made various reinstallations of the whole system from the HP system disks which I wisely created earlier. Problem was at some point i got the "blank screen blinking cursor on first windows boot". Explored a bit the net forums, never got to fixboot/fixmbr, they dont seem to be around and i dont think they would work anyway. What finally worked was I left some ~ 50G free space at the beginning of the disk and let the HP restore partition handle it as it likes. I guess the problem with the blinking cursor was that i created the windows partition with a linux live cd and it wasnt aligned as windows would like it. Now i have a grub mbr which can boot the "native" winxp media center edition, the HP system restore partition, and OpenSolaris. I am thinking about Darwin too but dont see where it can fit as all the 4 primary partitions have been used already (2 for HP, 1 win, 1 sol).

Got other issues in between opensol, win, freebsd, wifi, iphone, and the hp officejet here and will elaborate if someone is interested. The good thing would be to have windows virtualboxed with usb support under opensol :)
